Carla Bruni-Sarkozy in a few dates

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy was born on 23 December 1967 in Turin, Italy.

She moved to France as a child with her family. At the age of 19 she began an international career as a model, which lasted for 12 years.

In 2000, she started her career as a musician and released her first album in 2002, one year after the birth of her son.

On 2 February 2008, she married the President of the French Republic, Nicolas Sarkozy.

On 1 December 2008, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy became a Global Ambassador for the protection of mothers and children against AIDS, on behalf of the Global Fund, UNICEF and UNAIDS.

On 23 April 2009, she created a foundation bearing her name. The Carla Bruni-Sarkozy Foundation aims to encourage access to culture, education and knowledge for disadvantaged people.

On may 19th, 2010, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy launch the International Born HIV Free campaign, to draw the public’s attention to the possible eradication of mother-to-child HIV transmission by 2015.
