LISAA

School of Applied Arts and Fashion / Partner to the Foundation’s scholarship programme, sponsored by Jean Paul Gaultier

Founded in 1986, the Higher Institute of Applied Arts (LISAA), which trains professionals in the fashion and textile industry, now has four schools in France : Paris (1986), Rennes (1995), Nantes (2000) and Strasbourg (2001), attended by nearly two thousand students. After a foundation year in applied arts at Lisaa or another school, the Lisaa education programme covers two years and is divided into four modules: graphic design; interior architecture and design; textiles; and 2D and 3D animation and video games.

As for fashion, the school, which sets out to train professionals who can join companies in the sector, takes part in competitions and organises fashion shows: promoting young designers, the Colbert committee, the Onward and Mizuno competition (Japan), the fashion schools competition at the Student Fair (Paris), the international competition for young designers at the Hyères and Dinard Festivals.
The title of Lisaa Stylist (with textile design or patternmaking options) is accredited by the government.
