Hermès
The bride’s brand
A white knee-length dress hemmed with navy blue braid: just like her wedding at 55, rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy’s clothing was elegant and simple. Situated just a stone’s throw from the Elysée, the house of Hermès has undergone a quiet revolution in recent years. In 1999 the historic leather-goods manufacturer broke into women’s ready-to-wear when it acquired a 35% holding in Jean Paul Gaultier. The first Jean Paul Gaultier collections for Hermès were shown in 2004.
