Guggenheim Museum

Museum/Visit on the sidelines of the official arrival of the presidential couple in New York for the 63rd UN General Assembly (September 2008)

With its  spiral design by Frank Lloyd Wright, the Guggenheim Museum in New York has one of the most impressive art collections in the world. From Manet to Chagall via Mondrian and Kandinsky, the 6,000 works (only 3% of which are exhibited) span a wide variety of periods and styles including impressionism, surrealism and abstract.   The featured artists come in the most part from Europe. Like the Turner retrospective at the Metropolitan, the Guggenheim received a visit from the presidential couple when they went to New York in September 2008.
