Frick Collection
Museum / Visit on the sidelines of the official arrival of the presidential couple in New York for the 63rd UN General Assembly (September 2008)
For any European, whether a statesman or not, the Frick Collection is a must-see. Since its opening at the beginning of the 20th century on Fifth Avenue, the museum has acquired a collection of porcelain and French 18th-century furniture as well as paintings from the old world. The institution, directed by Anne L. Poulet, includes works by Gainsborough, Goya, El Greco, François Boucher, Bruegel and Holbein. Visited during the Sarkozys’ trip to New York in September 2008.
