Hit for the Canard Enchaîné newspaper

Since December 2007 Le Journal de Carla B. (“The Diary of Carla B”.) has been announced every Wednesday on the front page of the famous satirical newspaper. Success encouraged rumors to fly: the “diary” was said to be passed on by Pierre Charon, adviser to the Elysee Palace, or it was even said that Carla Bruni was personally providing the material. The Canard immediately denied the rumors: “Le Journal de Carla B is written by a Canard journalist, Frédéric Pagès.” Excerpt : “Saturday. Oh, Ladies, Help! Dim (bala-baba-bala…), lingerie manufacturer, is closing its plant in Autun to offshore to Romania. Goodbye pantyhose and bras? I alert My Husband, who is furious: ‘I, President, say that Frenchwomen will not become sans-culottes!’ He immediately ordered a speech from Guaino along the lines of: ‘Don’t let our best support go abroad!’” For German-speaking fans, we saw the publication in Germany of Das geheime Tagebuch der Carla Bruni (Kiepenheuer & Witsch).
