Forum Permanent ANLCI
The Permanent Forums of Practices are organized by the French National Agency for the Fight against Illiteracy. Since the ANLCI was created in 2000, three have been held. Following a first stage, 500 participants met in Lyon in April 2005 for three days of debate, round tables, presentations and discussion for an international French-speaking meeting on access for all to reading, writing and basic skills. Then, between December 2006 and the beginning of 2008, some 3,000 players from education, training, the corporate world, integration, culture as well as policymakers, researchers, salaried workers and volunteers met to work on practices for preventing and fighting illiteracy. The third stage of the Forums was launched in Fall 2008. For two years, the focus will be on three areas for priority action: Integration, Prevention and Career Development. This initiative, supported by the European Social Fund, aims to ensure that “what works in the field, with people, becomes the source for recommendations for action”. Identify good practices to highlight them, in relation with players and decision-makers in the field, and propose concrete tools: “A method that enables us to not work everywhere on everything, but rather to share the task so that in each region we can cover all areas, all ages and all target audiences, and then be able to draw on a capital of shared operational tools.”
